Abstract

We will introduce VS, a newly developed program for the analysis of conditional path models. Psychologists are always interested to use moderated mediation and mediated moderation models for testing their theories about the human processes. However, they consistently feel that the analysis of these models can be demanding because they have to translate the conceptual model into its corresponding statistical model. More advanced modeling skills are required in order to specify the statistical model correctly. Our VS program adopts a general framework for testing conditional path models in structural equation modeling and utilize R, a free software environment for statistical computing, for conducting the conditional path analysis. Researchers only have to specify the conceptual model in VS and the program will automatize the analysis of the conditional path model. The program substantially simplifies the analysis of conditional path models and help researchers make interpretation of the conditional indirect effects.
