Abstract

This study explores vocational pedagogy to stimulate students’ work-based collaborative learning in the context of industry-university collaboration. The concept of classroom orchestration allows teachers to see pedagogy as the coordination of a multiplicity of activities and as the integration of technologies and the adaptation of activities to the classroom context (pedagogical orchestration). A case study with twenty teacher interviews was adopted to obtain teachers’ orientation to pedagogical practice in facilitating students’ work-based collaborative learning. Findings suggest that the integration of work-based learning fosters the establishment of a vocation-oriented teaching practice that supports collaboration between universities and enterprises. Thus, the research highlights the designed classroom orchestration cam promotes collaborative learning and pedagogic development in the vocational learning environment. Copyright © 2023 AERA.
