Abstract
This paper is discussing about the role of schoolteachers in the initial teacher education of the Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd). The first section is a general overview to the curriculum structure of the teacher training programme of the institution and the second section is the information on the proportion of the academics and schoolteachers involved in teaching to the Education programmes across the curriculum. The final section is focused on some analyses and explanations for the student teachers’ view on the role of schoolteachers in the teacher education curriculum, which provide insights to lead to the review of the curriculum and teacher education in Hong Kong.
