Abstract

This project aims to pilot a set of undergraduate STEAM courses to strengthen creative arts students’ competency in applying STEM skills for artistic solutions. STEAM is one of the variations that add arts to the STEM curriculum by drawing on design principles and encouraging creative solutions, which fosters students’ ability to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills across different subject disciplines through problem solving with creativity and innovations. Two STEAM courses and related teaching and learning activities oriented to the areas of virtual reality, interactive design, and creative coding will be piloted in the proposed project, which incorporates innovative pedagogies and interdisciplinary approaches to enhance creative arts students’ learning experiences.
