This proposed TDG Project is a continuation of a Departmental TDG pilot project (2011/2012) that was implemented in 2011-2012 with two selected sample groups comprising Year 1 and Year 4 Music and Visual Arts students. It will require students to apply and demonstrate reflective and critical thinking using the “E-progress mapping” instrument that has been developed in the pilot project. In addition to providing students with a self-monitoring instrument for progress tracking, progress checking and achievement setting towards their professional goals, it would enable individual students to critically reflect on their own progress in the process of achieving the various subject learning outcomes in their Music and Visual Arts studies. Both students and lecturers would benefit from such a reflective mechanism for evaluation and quality enhancement purposes. This project will be evaluated with feedback from staff, students and external reviewers.
