International Postgraduate Roundtable and Research Forum cum Summer School is a consolidated platform to provide postgraduate (PG) students of EdUHK, local UGC-funded institutions and tertiary institutions in Greater China region and overseas with global engagement and networking opportunities. The theme of the event is “Building students’ as academic leaders”. It is a unique assembly held in July 2017 (5 days) in the campus of EdUHK for and by PG students. It is anticipated that more than 200 postgraduate students will participate in the event, some even serve as members of the Organizing Committee and/or parallel session chairs. With the concerted efforts of global engagement, PG students of EdUHK have already developed a network with local UGC-funded universities, as well as regional and international institutions, including France, Australia, USA, Germany, Japan, Korea, Macau, Mainland China, Russia, Kazakhstan Singapore, Taiwan, … etc. They will take the lead to organise the forum, co-chair panel sessions, attend summer school and make presentation at the roundtable with academic staff and international scholars. The event will encourage the students to collaborate more fully across boarders and across disciplines than they have done traditionally, to get into the practice of presenting their work and to work more fully with diverse cultures and communities. It will further provide an opportunity for students to learn the latest international discourses on research methodology and assessments in education, social sciences, liberal arts, and humanities.
