In pre-service early childhood education (ECE) programmes (Higher Diploma and B.Ed.), student teachers are arranged for weekly and full week School Attachment before starting their Block Practice. Though student teachers have the opportunities to observe and assist supporting teachers’ teaching and teaching preparation during School Attachment, they are always more attracted to the implementation process and teaching skills. In addition, the lesson planning and preparation process may not fall into weekly and full week School Attachment which makes the planning process uneasy to be observed and easily neglected. Getting start to plan a lesson for Block Practice is still always difficult for student teachers. Unlike primary and secondary curriculum which is guided by textbooks in different subjects, preschool curriculum is more school-based and integrated by various approaches (e.g. thematic approach, project approach and High/Scope etc). Student teachers in ECE have to prepare teaching in all domains (e.g. language, science, art, music and physical activities etc.) for half and/or whole day programme. They experience more difficulties in planning their own lessons, thus more support needed. There are some local references on how teachers support children’s learning through various approaches, but they are more focused on the implementation process. Such references seldom show or discuss the process how teachers come up with the lesson plans and schedule the daily routine. This project aims to produce a documentary on how teachers plan and prepare children’s learning activities on a daily basis as well as the implementation and evaluation process.
