Abstract
The study addresses the nature of workplace learning as learning for work and through work. Learning and work encounter each other in teachers’ workplace learning, not only facilitating their pedagogical practice but also enhancing their professionalism through continuous professional development. The workplace learning model was adopted as the conceptual framework of this study. A case study design was employed to explore vocational teachers’ experiences using semi-structured interviews to characterise their realisations of learning practice. The findings indicated that teachers’ work-based learning within the school-enterprise collaboration supported and facilitated application-oriented teaching and their continuing professional development. The research contributes to knowledge on vocational teachers’ workplace learning process, that is, knowledge creation within the learning situation and its application in teaching practices.
