Abstract

Learning happens for human being mostly through physical, cognitive, and emotional interactions with the external environment. With the aid of information technology, interactions have gone beyond the limit of working on a desktop computer, using a mouse and keyboard to interact with windows, icons, menus, and pointers, in which tangible user interface (TUI) is gaining increasing attention. This article will provide an overview of TUI, discuss its functional characteristics, present some application cases, and discuss design and application issues for TUI in education. Copyright © 2015 Elsevier Ltd.
