Abstract

This study attempted to extend research in the field of intimate relationship. We hypothesized that (1) whether a couple taking exercise together is positively correlated with their relationship satisfaction; (2) dispositional optimism as a moderator of the relationship between this relation. 98 pair of couples were recruited to finish an online survey in order to obtain their demographic information, relationship satisfaction, optimistic level, and information about exercising. By using structural equation model (SEM) to analyze, evidence was found to support that dispositional optimism have a moderating effect in between the relation of whether couple takes exercise together and relationship satisfaction. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings are discussed. All rights reserved.
