Sharing of inter- and intra-school ARTS-/ SPORTS-STEM experiential learning activities: Reflections on leadership and ethical issues

Research output: Contribution to conferencePapers

Abstract

This paper will share some valuable experiential learning experiences in Arts-/ Sports-STEM education in inter- and intra-school activities and competitions in the second semester and summer vacation of 2022-23 during the post-pandemic era. By adopting the multi-disciplinary approach of balancing technical-rational and artistic-intuitive design elements, participating students in groups demonstrated some digital (distributive) leadership model in the fluidic stages of ‘doing-sensing-feeling-thinking’ when they became self-directed learners in exercising systems design thinking and psycho-motor skills in some 3D projection mapping training workshops and AI-facilitated physical fitness activities respectively. Some participating schools also exhibited a leadership model of leading those activities and competitions in their school districts. Meantime, some ethical issues in e-health will also be addressed through some participating students’ and teachers’ reflections. The experiential learning framework in the paper will draw implications for international schools in Hong Kong and other Asia-Pacific countries when similar STEM activities are being launched in the latter schools.
