Abstract

This handbook provides an ultimate reference work that provides authoritative and international overviews of schools and schooling in Asia. In three parts, it displays the current state of the scholarship for schools and schooling in Asia including emerging, controversial and cutting-edge contributions in a thematic approach. Part (i) covers regional contexts influencing education, part (ii) includes educational priorities (such as curriculum, assessment, teacher education, school leadership, etc.) and part (iii) focuses on issues such as private tutoring and cram schools, lifelong learning as well as lesson and learning study etc. Routledge International Handbook of Schools and Schooling in Asia draws on contributors who are experts in their respective areas, providing a multidimensional view of the region's school and education systems.
