Abstract
Semantics and syntax are distinct aspects of reading comprehension. The current article high-lights the importance of semantic and syntactic types of comprehension by extracting relevant studies. The paper then focuses on the methods and procedure of the psychophysical bilingual study on 21 Russian-speaking users of English as a second language. The participants of the study were given with the Russian and English sentences, with the aim that they were to decide whether the sentence is correct or not by pressing the relevant button.
