Abstract

This chapter contains a preamble that discusses changing times in education and the move from pedagogy to heutagogy in approaches to teaching and learning. The rest of the chapter is designed to orientate the reader to the provenance of Free Learning, a new and innovative curriculum project, and describe the book’s purpose, intentions, structure, sections and individual chapters. These will be presented so that readers can determine how the book coheres and how its separate elements combine to produce as full a picture as possible of this exciting curriculum innovation.
