IT tools for preparing mathematics test

IT tools are useful for teachers, but few people pay attention to assist the teachers to complete daily tasks such as preparing exercise and test paper in an efficient way. This paper attempts to investigate the feasibility and strategies of using computer as a teacher tool in preparing teaching materials. The phototype of a computer toolbox has been developed for teachers in teaching junior secondary Mathematics. The toolbox is a collection of some small computer programs and each program is built with a database of worked problems on a certain topic, full solution provided. It could be used to help teachers to prepare test papers, worksheets and worked examples interactively. As the software is designed to work on both Chinese and English Windows platforms, teachers can use it to produce solved problems in Chinese. A lot of burden in typing Chinese into the computers will be released.
