Implementation of TOC at P1: A case study in the English language classroom

Abstract

This paper will briefly discuss a research project focusing on the implementation of TOC in a Primary One English Language classroom. The following areas will be considered: teacher training for TOC; teacher and student attitudes towards TOC; availability of resources; development of materials and the status of TOC within the school curriculum. Conclusions about the method of implementation and its effectiveness will be drawn and recommendations for the successful development of TOC in schools will be made. Discussion and comments on the results of the research project will be strongly encouraged.
