Abstract

We will start this article with an overview of the efforts of various Asian countries to initiate and drive the use of ICT in education. We hope to convey a sense of dynamism and enthusiasm of the various Asian countries and in particular in Singapore, in the planning and deployment of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in schools and tertiary institutions. In the latter part of this article, we will delve more in depth into the experiences of Singapore's initiatives in integrating ICT in education. We discuss the potential impact and problems arising from this trend of ICT developments in education. Copyright © 2005 Springer Science + Business Media, Inc.
