Abstract
The essence of digital transformation in education is to construct a future education ecosystem integrated with digital technology, through a thought process that combines evolution and innovation. This aims to promote systemic reconstruction and cultural innovation across all elements, operations, fields, and processes, thereby accelerating the achievement of balanced, personalized, lifelong, flexible, and open education. Such advancements are designed to enhance the operational vitality of the education system and meet societal expectations for equitable and high-quality education. This research introduces six target dimensions for the new educational ecosystem from four perspectives: innovation in teaching environments, resources, and models; development of digital literacy, capabilities, and skills; reform in evaluation content, methods, and instruments; and transformation in governance philosophies, entities, and structures. These include transitioning from a supply-driven to a demand-driven educational paradigm, shifting from a teaching-centered to a learning-centered pedagogical model, evolving from knowledge-based to competencybased educational assessment, moving from stage-based to lifelong education systems, opening from closed to open educational frameworks, and transitioning from management-based to governance-based operation mechanisms of educational systems. It advocates guiding principles such as problem-driven and concept-led approaches, future orientation and competency-based focus, learner-centered and adaptive services, human-machine collaboration and digital empowerment, lifelong learning with accompanying documentation, multidimensional evaluation and credible evidence, iterative evolution and continuous innovation, and system openness and ecological development. Furthermore, the study explores an action framework, ecosystem construction, and risk prevention mechanisms for digital transformation in education guided by design wisdom.
