Establishing an online platform for field experience to support early chilhood teacher education

Abstract

This paper describes the development of a web-based system for students of the Certificate in Kindergarten Education Programme (CE-KG) and Certificate in Early Childhood Education Programme (CE-ECE). It aims to provide a platform for encouraging self-learning and interaction, providing useful teaching resources and information, sharing of good practice and giving emotional support. Results showed that most students valued the website for supporting their learning in field experience. However, the culture of sharing thoughts and good practice, providing emotional support and encouraging interaction among the students should be further cultivated.
本文介紹香港教育學院幼兒教育學院設立的學校體驗支援站。該學校體驗支援站主要有三個作用︰1. 作為展示教學的一個平台。 2. 提供自我學習的機會。 3. 成為師生、學員之間溝通的橋樑。問卷調查結果顯示該支援站能提供有用的學習資源支援教學實習,但在相互分享、打氣和支持的作用上還須推廣及提昇。 Copyright © 2005 The Hong Kong Institute of Education.
