Abstract
For most students, subject courses in mathematics or information technology are rather abstract and difficult to learn. Quite often, they find it difficult to understand the related concepts , theories and applications , or hard to relate them to the primary or secondary teaching. This project aims to develop pedagogy to facilitate the students to learn mathematics and information technology courses more effectively, and to provide some concrete examples on how the subject knowledge taught at the institute can be related / applied to the primary or secondary context . To this end, the project team will work closely with the course lecturers concerned to design and develop the related teaching and learning materials for use in the mathematics and information technology courses. It is anticipated that the end products will contribute to enhancing the relationship between teaching and learning of subject courses, and the quality of teaching and learning in our department. Also, the materials developed in this project can be used for promotion of online learning and integration to become part of the departmental teaching portfolios to be developed in the near future.
