Abstract

This colloquium consists of three studies, each taking a distinct methodological perspective (i.e. quantitative, qualitative and textual) to investigate English academic writing by Hong Kong undergraduate students. The three studies jointly contribute to the understanding of the academic writing development of Hong Kong students, regarding their linguistic capacities, developmental trajectories, problems and strategies.
