Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop and validate an instrument to measure stress in undergraduate students. The sample comprised 2,085 students from four universities in Vietnam. A conceptual model was developed from the literature, which pointed to the multidimensionality of stress, with sources in academics, student-lecturer relationship, and financial and familial factors. Further, stress can manifest both psychological and behavioural symptoms. Six Likert-type scales were developed based on this understanding. The total sample was split into two subsamples for development and validation purposes. Exploratory Factor Analysis was undertaken on subsample one and five latent factors were identified consistent with the multidimensional understanding, except that psychological and behavioural symptoms were underpinned by one common factor. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was undertaken on subsample two, and evidence was found in support of the five-factor model. The total scale and the five subscales were found to be internally consistent with Cronbach’s alpha ranging from .729 to .881.
本研究主要目的為發展「越南大學生壓力量表」與效度驗證,研究樣本包含2,085 位來自四所越南大學的大學生。此壓力量表為多維度模型參考相關文獻,壓力來源共分為學業、師生關係、財務及家庭等四大方面;此外,壓力的外在表現可以分為心理和行為症狀。本研究基於四種壓力來源與二種外在表現,編製了六種Likert 式量表。為了開發和驗證目的,將總樣本分成兩個子樣本。子樣本一用於探索性因素分析,用以識別五個潛在因素的多維度模型,除了心理和行為症狀由一個共同因素支撐,其他四個因素分別為上述所提及的四種壓力來源。子樣本二用於驗證性因子分析,結果支持五因素模型。總量尺和五個子量尺其內部一致性 Cronbach’s α係數分別介於 .729 到 .881 之間。 Copyright © 2017 Psychological Testing.
