Abstract

In this presentation the speaker shared his experience with the audience on applying for funding and implementing the project as a Knowledge Transfer activity. The project is supported by the QEF for three years (2009-12) with the overall aim to promote teaching and learning of Cantonese opera in local primary and secondary schools. Collaborative partnership between music teachers and professional artists of Cantonese opera is one of the major characteristics. In order to recognize the contribution of engaging students, teachers, artists and researchers in music and music education, this project received the Musical Rights Award in 2011 from the International Music Council, which is an international NGO for music founded by the UNESCO in 1949.
