Abstract

Sludge extracts were used as culture media for Chlorella pyrenoidosa in the laboratory. It was discovered that the growth rates and the chlorophyll contents of Chlorella cultivated on sludge extracts (1%, 2% and 3%) were higher than those obtained from the Kuhl medium (Kuhl, 1962) which is recommended for vigorously growing organisms of the Chlorella type.
