China's national curriculum reform in the global era

Abstract

Entering the new millennium, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China initiated a new round of national curriculum reform for basic education which continues until today. In this chapter, we try to locate China's national curriculum reform in the context of globalization, and briefly discuss the framework behind the chapters and importance of this volume.
