Abstract

As part of its ongoing R&D work, the Centre for Popular Culture and Education has conducted two small Knowledge Transfer projects concerned with the integration of popular culture into the NSS English curriculum through Language Arts electives. This seminar will focus on the second of these projects, which involves the development of a QEF proposal for a collaborative case study project with the British Council Hong Kong and several secondary schools. In the seminar, we will introduce the background research on young people’s engagement with popular culture in learning that lies behind the proposal, outline the proposed project, and discuss some of the challenges of Knowledge Transfer in the context of collaborative projects with schools.
