Abstract

This paper raises three issues related to the language benchmarks for language teachers policy from the perspective of the teacher education provider. The issues range from concerns over the equity and justice of the implementation policy adopted by Government to curriculum design issues arising from the incorporation of benchmark standards into existing programmes.
