Abstract

Educating and promoting site safety is a critical concern in the construction industry, necessitating an effective management system to ensure safety. This research evaluates the implementation of a smart site safety system (4S) in Hong Kong, utilising smart educational technologies such as intelligent tutoring and virtual reality. The study examines the impacts of 4S on the industry and discusses the associated challenges. It addresses how early implementation of 4S can enhance safety performance and reduce industrial accidents on construction sites. The research involved interviews with professionals from various fields responsible for creating, selecting, training, supervising, implementing, and executing the system. The findings indicate that 4S effectively enhances site safety and that selecting appropriate safety and transmission equipment can reduce industrial accidents, even in site constraints and the need to address and rectify safety vulnerabilities.
