Abstract
A Multi-Media Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) in Electricity is a learning software written for junior secondary users. It was constructed by integrating CAT and CAI approaches and to take advantage of the strengths both self-learning modules. Such an approach can speed up the teaching time and reduce the loading of the teacher’s preparation. It also presents the concepts through text, graphics, videos, animations and computer simulations. Moreover, it contains hypermedia for illustrating current flow of circuit diagram, connection of electricity component, examples and guided exercises. The use of animation, graphics and sound increases the effectiveness of CAK and gives students a simulation on the situation of the laboratory. It enables students to tailor the program to their needs and objectives. Teachers may use the multimedia CAL package as a teaching aid to enhance the teaching effectiveness since some abstract concepts may be more easily visualized through the image display. Students may also use this package to learn at home. This gives the students an opportunity to learn selected topics in their own time and pace, according to their learning abilities.
