Abstract
There is a rapidly growing body of linguistic research exploring attachment preference in the second language (L2) parsing. This descriptive review delves into the language contexts, kinds of stimuli, types of computer-based tasks of the pertinent research published in the past decade. It was found that research is typically conducted in the form of reading experiments utilizing computer-based psychophysical tasks, in some cases, combined with eye-tracking. Some limitations of the reviewed research are also outlined. First, the language context of the relevant research is very limited, as, for the most part, the L2 of recruited language learners is English. Second, the reviewed research does not account for random samples representing various L2 contexts, age, and occupation groups. Third, there are no studies within the chosen period that combine computer-based and electrophysiological methods. Copyright © 2022 Kalmyk State University Press.
