Abstract

With the worldwide rapid economic development and globalization in the last twenty years, educational innovation has become an essential strategy to produce a highly qualified workforce to cope with the challenges of rapid social, economic and technological change. Under such a context, public examinations are not only seen as an effective means to identify graduates with such qualities, but also a vehicle for an intended curriculum reform to attain the 20th Century educational goals. Those who are in support of this view believe that evaluation can "produce positive power on learning" and is the most cost-effective way to engineer curriculum innovation (Crooks, 1988). This research aims to use the evaluation perspective to analyze the impact of teacher professional development on the teachers who are going to teach the curriculum of the College Entrance Examination in China mainland.
