Abstract
回首百多年的香港歷史,政府對幼兒教育由昔日的漠視態度,到今天既提供資助,又訂定師資培訓的指標和時間表,務使下一代能從優質學校獲取優質教育。優質教育須配合幼教主管與前線幼師的培訓、課程發展、評估制度及一套完善的素質保證方案才能奏效。惟優質幼兒教育與幼教工作者的素質是息息相關的,因為優質的學校課程、評估及質素保證方案實有賴校內每一位幼教工作者共同承擔及推動。有鑑於此,本文旨在探討在教育改革的洪流下,香港特別行政區政府如何藉專業培訓以建立優質幼兒教育。
Early childhood education had been neglected by the government for the past one hundred years or so. Recently, in an effort to improve the quality of early childhood education, the government has been paying more and more attention to early childhood education as reflected by furnishing increasing resources to early childhood education and establishing timeline for training of teachers. The quality of early childhood education can be said to be dependent on a host of interrelated factors, such as quality of teacher training, curriculum development, appraisal system and school development plan, the working of which involves early childhood educators in different settings and at different levels. Offering a quality education to children thus calls for early childhood educators working together to enhance and promote the quality of early childhood education. This article therefore discusses the factors that influence and enhance quality assurance of early childhood education in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, one of which being resources for professional training in early childhood settings.
