香港工業發展之前景

本報告撮錄了各位講者在「香港工業發展之前景」政策論壇上的發言。該論壇乃香港中文大學社會科學院及香港亞太研究所合辦之公共政策論壇系列之第四次研討會，會上各講者及嘉賓均就工業政策及政府的角色發表了意見，其中就工業對香港的重要性、平衡的經濟發展、科技提升，及邊境加工區更有深入之討論。參與者多贊成香港需要不斷提升技術，保持領導地位，帶動內地發展。
This report summarises the discussion among speakers who participated in the public policy forum “The Future of Industrial Development in Hong Kong.” The meeting was one of the six policy forums jointly organised by the Faculty of Social Science and the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Participants at the forum expressed their views on the appropriate industrial policies and the role that the Government should play in industrial development. The range of the discussion covered the importance of the industrial sector in Hong Kong, the balance between service and industry in the course of development, technological upgrading, and the border processing zone concept. There was consensus on the importance of continuous technological advancement so as to keep Hong Kong a few steps ahead of the mainland. If Hong Kong succeeds here, Hong Kong will assume a key role in leading the growth of the mainland. Copyright © 1999 香港中文大學香港亞太研究所.
