Abstract
錢鍾書十分欣賞美國思想史家洛夫喬伊 (A. O. Lovejoy) 的治學方法，然而有趣的是，他的學術請著中雖然充塞著數量驚人的引文，卻鮮有徵引洛夫喬伊的著作。為了深入說明這個現象，本文首先從錢著中的西學引語入手，探討這些引文的特色；接著我們會考察錢鍾書對單位觀念史學的認識，以及打通說與單位觀念史學相似的地方，藉此說明錢氏與洛夫喬伊的關係。
The research method of Arthur O. Lovejoy, the American historian of ideas, was much appreciated by Qian Zhongshu 錢鍾書. Interestingly, Lovejoy's name seldom appears in Qian's academic works despite their preponderance of citations. To elucidate this issue, this paper will first discuss the characteristics of Qian's citations of western scholarship, and then examine his acquaintance with the History of Unit-ideas. In order to make clear the relationship between Qian and Lovejoy, we will show the similarity between the method of unit-ideas and Qian's own method. Copyright © 2004 國家圖書館.
