賴太史與香港早期的中文教育

賴際熙太史是深受儒家思想薰陶的知識分子，在避地香港的獨特文化機遇下，他選擇了在上庠以弘揚國粹為職志。由寓港清遺民參與創立的文化敎育機構，至今尚存的有香港大學中文學院、學海書樓和孔教學院等。這些文化平臺，宣示了以賴太史為代表的一代讀書人，在香港並不只是個過客，除了詩酒酬唱活動之外，他們以自身的文化學術底蘊，填補了香港高等教育中文教學的空白。本文探討賴太史對香港早期大學中文教學的推動和貢獻，以就正於大方之家。
Court Historian Lai Tsi-hsi is the intellectual deeply cultivated by Confucianism, during the special cultural circumstances of the exile in Hong Kong, he chose the works of spreading and reviving traditional Sinology as his life goal. Qing loyalists in Hong Kong established cultural educational institutions, with the School of Chinese at the University of Hong Kong, Hok Hoi Library and the Confucian Academy still existed until today. These cultural platforms demonstrate that the generation of scholars, with Lai as the representative, were not only the visitors in Hong Kong. Apart from the activities of making poems and songs, their cultural and academic backgrounds filled in the gap of the Chinese language teaching and learning of the tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. This article discusses the contribution of Lai in the early development of the Chinese language teaching and learning at the University of Hong Kong, so to arouse the discussion of the academia about this research field.
