Abstract
The results of this research conducted using a survey methodology shows that the three most important knowledge areas for future physical education teachers are: (1) fundamental knowledge of education, (2) knowledge of sports sciences, and (3) theoretical and skill-related knowledge of physical education. In order to adapt to the development of physical education in the 21st century, secondary school physical education teachers should have a contemporary attitude. This will entail more importance to continual and lifetime education. It will also improve one’s structure of knowledge and promote continuous research. Employing computer and multimedia technology in teaching will become necessary in order for physical education teachers to effectively meet society’s need.
