從解「橫越沙漠」趣題談起:數學通識科手記

Abstract

透過本文,作者分享他在數學通識課中,教授「橫越沙漠」趣題的經驗,從而帶出橫越沙漠與調和級數是如何緊密關連著的。進一步,作者將討論解決數學難題與數學發展的有趣關係。
In this article, the author would like to share his experience in teaching the “crossing the desert” problem to his students in a mathematics general education course. The close relation between crossing the desert and harmonic series will be explained. Furthermore, the interesting phenomenon between solving mathematics problems and the evolution of mathematics will be discussed.
