從校訓看香港中華文化教育

文章以辦學團體類型、宗教信仰及歷史傳承三個角度，探討辦學團體對校訓內容的影響，並就儒、釋、道三家思想，對校訓文化內涵加以分析。儒家思想是中華文化的主流，「博文約禮」、「克己復禮」、「明德新民」、「文行忠信」等校訓，佔了香港學校數目的一半以上，可體現其支配地位。而佛教團體所辦學校的校訓如「明智顯悲」、「慈悲喜捨」等，借着佛家思想的教化，使學生能認識自我，樹立正確的人生觀，並在生活中付諸實踐，以慈悲之心待人，奉獻社會。至於道教團體所辦學校的校訓如「明道立德」、「普濟勸善」等，既重內外修煉，又重濟世度人，為社會作出承擔。香港學校校訓的內容，能體現對中華傳統道德、民族精神的傳承，而其文化內涵更是深受中華傳統文化思想的浸潤，並彰顯中西文化思想的交流與融合。
This article starts with the introduction that presents an overview of primary and secondary school mottos in Hong Kong. The second section discusses the influence of school sponsoring groups on the content of school mottos, in relation to the types and religious beliefs of the school sponsoring bodies and their historical inheritance. The third section examines the impact of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism on the cultural essentials of school mottos. In the fourth section, an investigation is conducted into the effect of Christian culture on the connotation of the culture of school mottos. By comparing various influencing factors, the significance of traditional culture in affecting and guiding the determination of the content of school mottos is highlighted.
