對外漢語課程文化及歷史教學實施的現況、挑戰及展望

Abstract

中國經濟快速發展,漢語能力於國際社會的需求及其於國際間的地位也愈來愈高。不少具高度認受性的國際課程,例如國際文憑課程(IBDP) 都納入對外漢語課程。而語言與文化之間的關係密不可分,學習語言本為了解目的語的文化,而文化學習反過來又能讓學習者更好地掌握目的語。因此,對外漢語教學中的中國歷史、文化教學是整個教學過程中不可或缺的重要環節。目前,關於對外漢語中文化教學的研究得到廣泛的重視,但多側重於文化教學在對外漢語課程中的定位及其重要性,對於實際教學場景中具體實施情況的研究卻甚少。
本研究採用質化的方法,旨在探討於對外漢語的實際場景中,中國歷史、文化教學的具體推行情況,並進一步探究推行文化教學的具體方法、有效策略及遇到的困難。研究者透過半結構性訪談的方式,搜集研究材料,並以目的採樣的方法,訪問分別於香港、新加坡及中國內地六所不同的國際學校的六位對外漢語教師。本研究審視文化教學的推行現狀,並發現問題,提出改善的建議,對完善對外漢語課程的文化教學,促進漢語國際化及弘揚中國文化帶來啟示及積極推動的作用。
As the Chinese economy’s development accelerates, the status and demand for fluent Chinese proficiency emerges globally. Many highly recognised international courses, such as the International Baccalaureate Program (IBDP) has also included Chinese as a foreign language curriculum. Due to the inseparable nature between language and culture, language learning forms the foundation of cultural learning, whilst cultural learning assists learners to better master the language. Therefore, Chinese history and cultural education are important elements of the respective curriculum. Some research has been conducted in cultural teaching of Chinese as a foreign language as an essential element of learning the language. However, such research mainly focuses on the values and significance of cultural teaching in Chinese foreign language courses, and less on the real-life applications in practical teaching situations.
This research adopts a qualitative method to explore the implementations of Chinese history and cultural education in International Baccalaureate (IB) Mandarin Chinese, whilst it further explores the effective methods and difficulties encountered. Six Chinese teachers from mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore in four different international schools were interviewed. Through this research, researchers aim to examine the current state of cultural teaching, identify problems, and make further suggestions for improvement. This not only improves the existing Chinese language and cultural course, while also helps inspiring and advocating the promotion of the Chinese language and culture globally.
