大學生學術英語演講論證能力發展的個案研究

Abstract

學術英語演講中,論證能力是決定演講質量的關鍵因素之一。本研究以3名大學生為個案分析對象,探討他們在學術英語演講課中論證能力的發展狀況及其影響因素。研究發現:學生通過課程訓練能在演講中提供更多的概念定義和推理因素,更頻繁使用獲取受眾認同的策略,有效利用多模態資源;學生的論證能力受到學習經驗和特定領域內容知識的影響,課堂教學中的學習支架和互動活動能夠促進學生論證能力發展。
Argumentation competence has been regarded as one of the key factors influencing the quality of English academic oral presentations. This study explores the argumentation competence development of three college students and its influencing factors in an English academic oral presentation course. The findings indicate that after receiving course training, the students provide more concept definitions and reasoning, apply more strategies to gain audience identification, and use multimodal resources more effectively in oral presentations. The students’ argumentation competence is influenced by their previous English learning experience and content knowledge of specific fields, and the learning scaffolds and interactive activities in the classroom facilitate their argumentation competence development.
