Abstract
The development of Jiangxi Literary Style of the Northern Song Dynasty can be divided into three stages: before 1041, both Zeng from Nan Feng and Wang from Lin Chuan already addressed the literary theory of “placing importance on argumentations and applications”; from 1041 to 1063, the acquaintance between Ouyangxiu, Zenggong and Wanganshi led to the convergence of the different schools of classical prose in Jiangxi, which helped them dominate the literary circles. Finally, since 1064, writers from Jiangxi generalized the literary styles of these three writers, which further molded the theory of “Jiangxi Literary Style” as a consequence.
