Description
The QEF Thematic Networks Scheme – Serving Students with Dyslexia commenced in September, 2006. At the first stage, a school cluster consisting five core schools was set up to serve children with dyslexia. The concept of school cluster was used in this new scheme. Teachers of each member school were asked to develop an area of concern in reading disability. Teachers were required to take part in peer visitations, regular meetings and attachments for sharing their individual areas of concern. New strategies for word recognitions, reading comprehension monitoring, writing and spelling were tired out in member schools. The feedback from teachers was very positive. At the second stage, an additional number of eleven schools participated in this Scheme. The aim of this new proposal is to request for an extension of this Scheme until 2010.
