Project Details
Description
1. To develop the concept of a Hong Kong lyrical tradition by examining lyrical works, which embody the two lyrical themes–lamenting unfulfilled love, and struggling between love and politics–in Hong Kong from the 1970s through the 1990s.
2. To systematically study the chosen lyrical works from two perspectives: their intertwined relationships with popular culture, and a question of identity.
3. To enrich the study of a Chinese lyrical tradition.
