This research project aims at identifying the factors behind local secondary schools' decisions on selecting English language study tours. Meanwhile, this research will also explore the educational values of a language study tour, or field-based learning in social sciences language, from the eyes of the school principals and teachers. After considering the factors behind selecting an English language study tour, in particular how principals and teachers perceive the values of field-based learning, it is expected that suggestions can be generated on how to promote a foreign language study destination for authentic learning and field-based learning.
