QEF-Thematic Network on Support for Diverse Learning Needs (Reading and Writing) in Junior Secondary Schools (2016/17 School Year)

The major aim is to organize school networks for secondary school teachers to share good practices in teaching students with reading and writing problems. The importance of the network is that the teachers of the network are provided with a platform to:  Create space for teachers to develop and broaden curriculum activities;  Develop collaborative working practices and overcoming the isolation many teachers feel;  Provide a forum in which teachers can discuss and share ideas on teaching and learning and develop new teaching learning strategies;  Provide a space in which teachers can mutually support each other.  Share what they are doing in their classrooms;  Learn new skills and looking at how these can be integrated into the classroom;  Examine professional readings and looking at how these fit with the new strategies;  Reflect on their experiences and thinking; and  Visit other classrooms where good teaching and learning is being modeled.
