Description
In line with the project specification declared by AFCD, HKIEd would like to take up the contract to provide a teaching program to promote marine conservation among Hong Kong local schools. In the last twenty years, a lot of effort has been put into protecting Hong Kong’s marine environment. The environment, ecology, and conservation strategies are all excellent teaching resources for executing Environmental Education in schools. Through this program, we aim to promote Hong Kong marine environment, its ecological value, and protection works to local schools for the purpose of increasing people’s awareness of marine conservation.
The content of the program includes providing innovative and comprehensive teaching material to local schools, organizing lectures to effectively deliver marine-related knowledge and messages of marine conservation to local students. All these works target to educate the young generation our marine environment, and raising their conservation awareness. Schools can integrated our program with curriculums of General Studies in primary schools, and other subjects like Integrated Sciences, Geography in secondary schools. It can also be incorporated in “Other Learning Experience” of the New Senior Secondary School Curriculum to foster students’ whole personal development and develop sense of responsibility to protect our living environment as a part of civic education
