Project Details
Description
Despite living in the two different socio-political contexts of Hong Kong and Beijing, scholars and college students in both cities have expressed their strong sense of civic duty and concern over socio-political and economic issues and the development of civic society in their cities. The voice of our college students and faculty members should not be underestimated in studies of higher education and citizenship. To investigate and compare the practice of citizenship education in higher education institutions in Hong Kong and Beijing, and the way in which university students’ views of citizenship are changing is an important part of understanding contemporary political and educational processes, and the research theme of this project.
