The Hong Kong Curriculum Development Council has proposed three pillars as the framework of curriculum reform, namely knowledge and concepts, competencies and skills, and values attitudes, which are also essential components of Liberal Studies in the New Secondary School Curriculum. This project aims to address in particular the nurturing of values and attitudes by bringing Liberal Studies and values eduation together. This is to be achieved through taking Global Ethic as the theme for developing teaching and learning materials and activities for the Globalization module in Liberal Studies. As a worldwide project concerning universal ethical principles and values, Global Ethic is conceived as an approach toward diverse aspects of globalization, especially the implicit and crucial ethical elements. The intergration of Liberal Studies and values education through the theme of Global Ethic will help students as well as teachers to develop their own values and viewpoints towards various problems and issues of globalization.
