Focus interpretation and prosodic evidence of nuclear stress in Hong Kong Cantonese

This study explores prosodic focus in Cantonese within the framework of Prosodic Syntax, an emerging field with evidence mainly from Mandarin thus far. Through a series of acceptability judgement, speech production and perception tasks, we seek to test theidea that Cantonese syntax is also prosodically constrained.
