Project Details
Description
It is believed that the standardize tests and examinations traditionally used in accessing young children's performances in kindergartens could not fairly reflect the children's developmental characteristics and uniqueness. The Education and Manpower Bureau now starts to advocate kindergartens to use continuous based assessment systems for their young children. The one year project "Enhance Young Children's Development and Learning through Children Portfolio" funded by the Quality Education Fund which involved three kindergartens aims to develop such system. The goal of the project is (i) to effectively enhance the children's personal development and learning; (ii) to effectively promote the teachers' learning and teaching; and (iii) to help parents effectively elevate their children's development and learning.
